Unique and Unusual Engagement Rings

Unique and Unusual Engagement Rings

My favorite part about weddings are the things that make them unique. Traditions surrounding the big day have certainly changed, especially in the past decade. Traditions? What traditions? The fantastic part about that is every wedding is as unique as the couple that is hosting it. From the biggest decisions like a roof top venue or a rustic barn down to the smallest details like a Millennium Falcon guest book the couples' personality shines through. Of course, this has caused an ever changing shift in wedding trends that change not only year to year but season to season. One of these trends has been lurking around the edges for awhile but I'm pleased to have seen it more and more over this past year. Unusual engagement rings.

The word "unusual" covers so much ground here. It means unique materials like wood, glass, metals, meteorite, and EVEN DINOSAUR BONE. It means blazes of vibrant colors in stones that were often overlooked as engagement stones until now. It means eye-catching settings that are one-of-a-kind. Let's check a few of these gorgeous options out!

GEODE

These beauties can be found HERE!

Right out of the gate I'm going to start with one of my personal favorites. Geodes. These can come in a rainbow of colors and no two are the same. Basic and natural metals are the perfect complement to this centerpiece.

SIMPLE METAL

This woodland set is made HERE.
A simple metal with personalized etchings are a very popular choice at the moment. The best part about these rings is that you can often customize them to have a special meaning. We've seen rings with dates, coordinates, names, signatures, and more.

Creations like these can be found here!
Sea glass rings are perfect for the water loving couples. Certain places even custom make rings with sea glass that you send them. Meaning that pretty bobble you found while on vacation can be turned into the perfect memory keeper.

This raw stone beaut is located HERE.
Raw is definitely a sweeping trend and what isn't to like about it? Master crafters take pieces of raw stone and metals and create these amazing rings. These rings have HUGE variety and endless combinations. Copper and emerald? Blackened silver and amethyst? You name it.

OPALS

This particular opal ring also has an intricate band.
Opals have come in a range of colors that will complement any setting. They are also found on many vintage rings as well. Opals also offer an unusual stone without being over the top.

ART DECO

Art deco rings can certainly speak for themselves. These bold statement pieces come in every color, shape, and size imaginable. It isn't hard to see why ladies are drawn to these unique pieces when they are as unique as the rings.

This Rose Gold Octopus ring is life.
It really is amazing how detailed and creative a ring can be. Hand crafted designs like this one can really showcase beautiful stones. You can even sketch out your own creation to give your special someone.

GEOMETRIC CUTS

Check out this kite shaped salt and pepper ring.
A unique cut to a gem or stone can give a classic ring an eye-catching twist. The kite design like this one here has become very popular recently. A wedding band set with small stones is the perfect companion to this center piece.
